On to the semis at South Street

After seven weeks of hotly contested heats, the South Street Ale House will proceed with two weeks of semi finals before moving on to crown a venue winner in the i-Sing Australia competition for 2017.

The final heat on this past Saturday night saw three distinct styles (Johnny Cash, Bette Midler and Amy Winehouse) advance in the form of:

Saturday night's Heat 7 winners

While the heats may have concluded, there is no excuses for not getting down to the venue on Saturday night to see the best of the best compete for a chance to represent the venue, possibly Perth and hopefully Australia in the i-Sing World Championships being held in Myanmar late September of this year.  

There will still be open karaoke from around 8pm on Saturday night so jump in, show the judges what they may have missed and give the semi finalists a few pointers. Of course grab a bite from the menu and quench your thirst with a selection from the bar. Bruno and staff are among Perth's most hospitable.

Market City Rocked on Saturday night With a free Saturday night up my sleeve for once, I ventured out to the  Market City Tavern  to catch a performance by  Amph/lett  (Divinyls) and  Bon's Salute  (AC/DC). After hearing bits about the bands for a few weeks leading up and I can't say I was disappointed in their performances. First up, Amph/lett featuring Tanya Harding on vocals flashed me back immediately to 1986 in New York where I had the pleasure of seeing the original Chrissy and crew for the only time. I-Sing Heat 2

Three Advance from South Street Ale House Heat 2 of the I-Sing Australia competition from South Street Ale House saw another three singers separate themselves from the pack and advance to the next round of judging. The margin was thin between the eight entrants on the night as each held their own during performances. The singers are competing for the right to advance to the West Australian State Championship, on to the Australian National titles and ultimately the I-Sing World Championship hosted by Myanmar in late September of this year. No Foo-ing around as the Fighters conquer Perth By ChuckE! Perth 21 January 2018 - Fans at nib Stadium in Perth on Saturday night had the pleasure of witnessing rock royalty when the Foo Fighters kicked off the Australia-New Zealand leg of their Concrete and Gold World Tour . The Fighters brought along Weezer , a headliner in their own right and both were supported by local act Cosmic Kahuna  .  After an energetic set from the aforementioned Cosmic ones...Weezer took the Stage...
