Command a Panda 2 March 2018
Watch out for the Panda
Even on a night where Ed Sheeran was in town, local Perth outfit Command A Panda put on a night of musical mastery at The Boston last Friday night. The aptly titled Pandemonium show did not disappoint. The band was supported byBlack River Ransom, Pacific Drive and Kraill with each putting in creditable sets.
The Panda set was well received with Creeps and You Ain't Comin Back among the highlights. Singer Mott Hort and drummer Tim Hosken energetically poured everything into their performance. Literally in the case of Tim who was recovering from being sick during the week.
Friday night's Pandemonium a launchpad of an upcoming busy period for Command A Panda. They will be recording heaps of new tracks soon which they will be looking to release in the latter half of this year along with making a few video clips to accompany the tunes. Additionally the band is excited about embarking on tours to the southern part of Western Australia for the first time. There is also the possibility of a tour to the East Coast on the horizon.

Though Tim and Matt have been jamming together in different bands for roughly ten years, Command A Panda is young in band age having only been around for a year or so. When it comes to their sound/style/genre, Matt recently stated:
"Musical influence to me covers a wide range of genres and styles, honestly, I am influenced by everything I hear. Even when I hate music, I will go home and be inspired cuz I feel like I can write way better songs then these idiots who write mindless shit and made it just because their tune is catchy. I am inspired by bands who truly have their own sound and my goal has always been to write music for myself, not others".
Both gentlemen agree that they love what they do and hope to take Command A Panda as far as they can. Keep an eye out for future releases and gigs through their Facebook page and other Cyber Portals.
Kudos again to The Boston for providing a great venue for up and coming Perth bands. I look forward to visiting again.
