Sweetness forecast for Saturday in Perth

Saturday in Perth is set to be a bit hot weather wise but don't be discouraged music fans as things are set to sweeten up on Saturday night! The intrepid young gents from Sweet Surrender are set to premier their latest video and launch their EP at The Boston in Northbridge.

This quintet that could easily be customers at The Comic Book Store on Big Bang Theory have proven that they can rock on quantum levels and been constantly on the go/in demand since opening for Living Colour in May (you can read my take on our first encounter here). They have covered Perth and some of regional Western Australia with their unique take for covers along with morphing into the Red Hot Chili Peppers for tribute shows.

Astor Theatre gig

Saturday night, Sweet Surrender will premier their video for the remastered single 9Teen (available on Spotify) along with debuting two addition songs with the three compromising the EP Ordinary Hero available from tomorrow night. Prepare for an electrifying, energetic evening of sweetness. 

Opening for Living Colour

Other than constant gigs, the band has been shooting the video for 9Teen and booking shows for 2018. After the launch on Saturday night, the gents will actually take a week off before getting back into the studio and back on the gig grind. 

By all means, get to The Boston and get rocked sweetly on Saturday night.

Market City Rocked on Saturday night With a free Saturday night up my sleeve for once, I ventured out to the  Market City Tavern  to catch a performance by  Amph/lett  (Divinyls) and  Bon's Salute  (AC/DC). After hearing bits about the bands for a few weeks leading up and I can't say I was disappointed in their performances. First up, Amph/lett featuring Tanya Harding on vocals flashed me back immediately to 1986 in New York where I had the pleasure of seeing the original Chrissy and crew for the only time. I-Sing Heat 2

Three Advance from South Street Ale House Heat 2 of the I-Sing Australia competition from South Street Ale House saw another three singers separate themselves from the pack and advance to the next round of judging. The margin was thin between the eight entrants on the night as each held their own during performances. The singers are competing for the right to advance to the West Australian State Championship, on to the Australian National titles and ultimately the I-Sing World Championship hosted by Myanmar in late September of this year. No Foo-ing around as the Fighters conquer Perth By ChuckE! Perth 21 January 2018 - Fans at nib Stadium in Perth on Saturday night had the pleasure of witnessing rock royalty when the Foo Fighters kicked off the Australia-New Zealand leg of their Concrete and Gold World Tour . The Fighters brought along Weezer , a headliner in their own right and both were supported by local act Cosmic Kahuna  .  After an energetic set from the aforementioned Cosmic ones...Weezer took the Stage...
