Divinyl Intervention
Market City Rocked on Saturday night With a free Saturday night up my sleeve for once, I ventured out to the Market City Tavern to catch a performance by Amph/lett (Divinyls) and Bon's Salute (AC/DC). After hearing bits about the bands for a few weeks leading up and I can't say I was disappointed in their performances. First up, Amph/lett featuring Tanya Harding on vocals flashed me back immediately to 1986 in New York where I had the pleasure of seeing the original Chrissy and crew for the only time. Though I'm not nineteen anymore...the effect was very similar! Harding flaunted, strutted and teased as much as the original while singing powerfully in a compelling set that featured standards such as Pleasure and Pain, Boys in Town and of course, the sensual, I Touch Myself.
